Valentine/Arizona Party!

Happy Afternoon,

Go Broncos! I thought it was a great game and glad to see Manning win one more time before retiring.

This week we have a few events happening. On Thursday it is Library Night 4:30-6:30pm and Yogurtini Night as well. I know I am looking forward to some frozen yogurt, especially since the weather has been beautiful outside. Friday afternoon we will have a Valentine's Day celebration. This also marks the date Arizona became a state, therefore we will be doing activities. Please be sure they bring their valentine boxes they made at home as well as their valentines.

-Math: We previously learned finding equivalent fractions NF.1. This seemed to be a tough concept for most students. Therefore we will continue to practice as a warm up and if you can practice at home that will beneficial in understanding the concept as well as fractions. Last week we dabble in comparing fractions NF.2. We focused on two out of the four concepts (draw number lines and fraction bars or pictures). This week our focus is using benchmark fractions and finding a common denominator.  I have attached the anchor chart we used and some games below.
